Cooking Beef Short Ribs on a Kamado Joe Grill

Cooking beef short ribs on a Kamado Joe grill is a delicious way to enjoy this flavorful cut of meat. Here’s a recipe and method for preparing beef short ribs on a Kamado Joe grill.

Ingredients:

  • 4 beef short ribs (about 2-3 pounds)
  • 2 cups of your favorite dry rub
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce

Instructions:

  1. Season the beef short ribs with the dry rub, making sure to cover every inch of the meat. Let the ribs sit in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  2. Preheat your Kamado Joe grill to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and set it up for indirect heat cooking.
  3. Place the beef short ribs on the grill and smoke for about 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 205 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, baste the ribs with the beef broth and your favorite BBQ sauce.
  5. Once they are finished, remove them from the grill and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Note: You could use a thermometer probe to track the internal temperature of the meat while smoking, this will let you know when it’s ready to take off the grill. Also, you can use different types of wood chips to get different flavors.
